Elia Shikongo holds a BA LLB Degree, and is an admitted legal practitioner and Notary of the High and Supreme Court of Namibia. He specializes, inter alia, in commercial and corporate law, drafting of contracts and legal opinions, international arbitrations, and litigation. He has on occasions served as an Acting Judge of the High Court of Namibia, and has more than 20 years’ experience as a private legal practitioner. He is active in the aviation, oil and gas, mining, banking/financial, telecommunication, fishing, and transport sectors.
Mr Shikongo is currently a Chairperson of the Minerals Ancillary Rights Commission, under the auspices of the Ministry of Mines and Energy as well as Craton Mining. He has served on numerous other boards, such as the internationally listed HRT Oil and Gas Company, the founding Chairperson Namibia Wildlife Resorts, Fishcor Board, Counselor and President of the Law Society of Namibia, Falcon Investments and Phincon Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.
Primus was appointed Secretary of the Tender Board of Namibia in June 1991. He has served as the Principal Officer of the Government Institutions Pension Fund since 1995 and from April 1999 held the role of Chief Executive Officer. Primus, a former Chairman of the Namibian Stock Exchange, was again elected as Chairman on 10 June 2009 after being re-elected to the NSX Board in 2008. In 2018 Mr. Hango was elected as the Chairman of Alpha Namibia Industries Renewable Power Limited (Anirep) which is the first listed strategic investor of renewable energy projects in Namibia. Mr Hango and has served on the board of Craton Mining since July 2018.
Purvance Heuer is Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Arysteq Asset Management. Having completed his articles at PwC and subsequently spent four years between the USA and UK, gaining valuable experience in financial markets during this period. He later worked for Namibia Asset Management for three years and then joined Simonis Storm Securities in 2013. Purvance then co-founded Arysteq Asset Management as its first Managing Director. He has over 10 years of investment experience and over 15 years of financial services experience.
Mike Stuart is a geologist with over 25 years’ experience exploring for, and developing, copper deposits in Africa. Working for First Quantum Minerals for 9 years, including as Chief Geologist, he was involved the development and construction of both the Kansanshi Mine in Zambia and the Guelb Moghrein Mine in Mauritania, as well as other development projects. He then spent three years as a sell-side mining analyst in the City of London. Before joining the Omico team, Mike worked as exploration and development manager, and later mine manager, with Weatherly Mining Namibia, overseeing the transition from project developer into production at the heap leach SX/EW Tschudi mine in Namibia. Mike is a Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and a Qualified Person.
Mathys du Preez (Thys) has over 40 years’ experience as project and site manager across Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific, including for 15 years with Freeport, Glencore and ERG on major copper projects. Most notable eight years with Glencore as Engineering Manager (Projects and Process) in the DRC, and four years as Manager of Special Projects covering Glencore’s global copper projects. His work with Glencore included the installation of seven Electro Wining and five Solvent Extraction plants in the DRC, on time and budget. Other experience includes the design of 220k ton copper cathode plant in the DRC, and the design of a Stacker Reclaimer and Heap Leach system for the Lomas Byas copper mine in Chile.
